#ToiletForBabli - a clean India, is a progressive India

#ToiletForBabli - Off late we've had people from Indian govt to the people on the street talk about hygiene. Now consider this, a home with a clean toilet is a #swacch house, right! Similarly, a country with clean toilets can become a #swacch country, is that wrong!

Now for a country like India which takes pride in it's heritage and culture, the very culture that recognizes women as "goddesses" - is it therefore at all a good stat to know that 597 million people in our country defecate in the open, which includes the women of our country. It's a straight forward stand and a situation which needs our dire actions.

Our honorable Prime Minister has particularly stressed upon the cleanliness of our country since he took over and he's been ever since mentioning in all his speeches about the awful condition of Indian villages, where girls/women don't even have a toilet in their school/houses. In such a country, talking about development without considering the necessities of life is irrelevant and therefore I say - "a clean India, is a progressing India".

Coming to the initiative of Domex - it runs the Domes Toilet Academy (DTA) programme. This academy aims to provide sanitation that benefits the local community. The toilet academy makes toilet accessible and affordable to one and all, while emphasizing on cleanliness and proper hygiene. This academy hopes to build 24000 toilets across India by 2015 to eradicate the problem of open defecation.

Talking about my village, open defecation used to be a HUGE problem. Do you know how they combat this problem? The sarpanch of the village along with the elders of respective houses came together and raised funds to provide each house in the village with at least 1 toilet and these are the sort of efforts that we must collectively take to completely remove open defecation from our country and make this country of ours "truly beautiful" - a country where school girls must at least have toilets in their schools and a country which takes pride in it's cleanliness and hygiene.

PLEASE let's come together and help Domex reach to as many people as possible.

Each one of us can bring about a change. Show your support for the Domex campaign and what you need to do is “click” on the “Contribute Tab” on www.domex.in and Domex will contribute Rs.5 on your behalf to eradicate open defecation, thereby helping kids like Babli live a dignified life."

Every change is possible, all you need to have is the selfbelief and the goal to achieve the most impeccable of the dreams and this dream is one such aim of our country which can truly enrich our country and take it to new highs. Without doubt, a clean country is a progressive country.

Here's to an India without open defecation! Thank you Domex for your initiative and IndiBlogger for giving us this opportunity to write on this topic. :)
