Memories earned from a vacation have no "expiry date".

Childhood is the most mesmerizing time in one's life - the countless memories, the stories and the laughter's. The ability to see the world through the innocence of a child is something that's beyond words – it makes everything 100% more original and unique.

Holidays are a special time, every vacation that a family takes together leaves them with memories for their life - vacation may get over but talking about it never is enough to relish the times again and again.

I would like to share the story of the time when I took my son to my village Tamuria - a place that's befitting to spend a holiday and get in-close and personal with nature.

Tamuria is a village located in Bihar, the very village where my father grew up and where my great grandfather spent his life for the betterment of the village.

Starting first with the nature - I took my son to see the "lake" that's about 15 mins from my house and the first question he had in mind "how do people swim in such cold water" and I said - well, it's cold for you, not for them..  The village is surrounded by trees and this greenery makes for pleasant weather throughout the year.
Every major puja of the village, namely Chatth Puja is celebrated at the lake and women from all throughout the village come together to celebrate the festival - is what I told my son, he should definitely be aware about the culture and heritage of the place.

Next up, I took him to the "kalam" of my village - "kalam" are large fields filled with trees - in our kalam we have huge trees of mango and my son was shocked to see small tiny mangoes on the trees which could fall-off any time. I gave him a mango to eat from one of the trees and he still recounts the time he cherished the taste of those utterly-sweet mangoes, a joy that can only be experienced in villages.

There was a wedding in our village during the time that we visited and everybody was talking about the "bhoj". Expectedly my son was curious to know what this "bhoj" was and I told him that we too like others will attend the bhoj.

Bhoj is basically when the whole village is invited by the family that's celebrating an occasion, like in this case a wedding. In a bhoj, everybody has to sit down on a huge field of grass and they're given variety of dishes to eat from - poori, chawal (rice), mix veg, deep fried pakoras and countless of many more dishes that will leave you counting but the dishes wont stop coming. More importantly these dishes are served on a “banana leaf” which is considered healthier to eat on, when compared with thermocol plates/steel plates – moreover, that’s been the traditional since many years now.

My son truly relished this vacation spent with his family. A vacation which has given him countless memories to talk about - in fact just the other day we were discussing how the weather in the village used to get so pleasant during the night and how people used to get up in the morning as early as 4:00am and sleep sharp at 9:00 in the night.

The above mentioned reasons are exactly why vacations are perfect to make one's life "worth living" and gain celebrated memories to enjoy all throughout your life. "A vacation may get over but the memories from a vacation have no expiry date".

Plan a vacation with your kids through Club Mahindra and do ensure that just like you - they have countless memories to cherish from their childhood too because when they grow up, these are the very memories they will look back at and have a "smile" on their face when they tell these memories to their kids and plan a vacation with them.

That folks is how important a vacation is. :)
